This video clip demonstrates how the 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII opens it’s doors. Yea, 1993.. Yes, it’s 2007.. Oh, we had this awesome technological break through 14 years ago and people forgot about it? Oh.. Too bad.. Car doors are really heavy and cumbersome to open.

I wish the doors on my Ferarri opened like this. See picture.Ferrari.jpg

Automatic Waffle Maker

I’m all for machines doing the work of humans (see robotic beer pouring angel). My feelings about the automatic waffle maker are no different either. I can’t wait to come home at night from a long day at the factory to push a mere button and viola, there’s dinner. Ahhh, one can dream. Next time I dream, I should dream up a better job then factory worker too.

Robo Beer
Finally, a practical use for robots.  I mean, yea sure they can make cars and rockets and whatever else.  But this is something really useful.  Who has the time and/or energy to pour their own beer?  Who even wants to do the task of a bartender?  Not me, no sir.

US researchers have successfully tested an experimental system to deliver power to devices without the need for wires.

The setup, reported in the journal Science, made a 60W light bulb glow from a distance of 2m (7ft).

WiTricity, as it is called, exploits simple physics and could be adapted to charge other devices such as laptops.

From Gizmodo.com:

I’m not really into tools or anything but this is pretty amazing. I just can’t wait to write a story about some poor dude who bought the only defective one and tested it out to see it work, only to find his arm in a bloody mess.

Watch the video after the jump.

And don’t forget to Help Mr. Pizza!
